Haeundae in 2 Days: Beach Hotel, Grilled Makchang, Momos Coffee and a Thai Lunch

Last checked: October 28, 2026. We visited in late September 2025. Hours and prices change, so check before you go.

Haeundae is Busan's most famous beach, and two days here can be very good or very tiring, depending on how you plan them. This is the route we took: a beachfront hotel with an evening pool, grilled beef intestines with the locals, a sunrise-early coffee, and a Thai lunch on Dalmaji Hill. Everything is close, and most of it is walkable.

Pool sessions and closing days can change by season, so confirm them with the hotel when you book.

Day 1, night: Haeseong Makchang

Beef intestines (makchang) on a grill

For a late, very local dinner, we went to Haeseong Makchang, a well-known spot for grilled beef intestines with frequent queues, within walking distance of the hotel.

Grilled until golden outside and chewy inside, one bite explains the queue. And just when you think you're full, the intestine hot pot starts bubbling and the spoon somehow keeps going back.

Day 2, morning: Momos Coffee, Marine City

Pine garden view from Momos Coffee Marine City

Momos is one of Busan's best-known coffee roasters, and its Marine City branch opens at 8 a.m. Big windows look out on a pine garden, with the sea just behind it. The pines are free; the coffee is the point.

Day 2, lunch: Saint Augustin, Hotel Illua

Restaurant interior with terrace and greenery at Hotel Illua

Squeeze in one more pool session before check-out, then head up Dalmaji-gil for Thai food at Saint Augustin, on the ground floor of Hotel Illua. It's a calm, polished dining room with terrace seating facing the trees.

The curry is mild and rich, topped with crispy fried pieces, and spooned over white rice it feels like a quick trip to Bangkok without the flight. The rice disappears faster than you'd expect.
